I twist,
I turn,
I stumble,
I fall.
My knees are bruised
my hands are bleeding,
the path continues upwards
the dark, descending.
where am I going,
does my guide know the way?
resolutely we persist in climbing
over the boulders that are scattered along our path.
Now the light gives way to night
and my heart to fright.
My steps falter,
my heart, almost failing.
Once more I lift weary eyes....
a full moon bursts free of the horizon
and all around me,
all that was full of fear
is now bathed in soft blue light
and this darkness becomes my comforter.
I turn,
I stumble,
I fall.
My knees are bruised
my hands are bleeding,
the path continues upwards
the dark, descending.
where am I going,
does my guide know the way?
resolutely we persist in climbing
over the boulders that are scattered along our path.
Now the light gives way to night
and my heart to fright.
My steps falter,
my heart, almost failing.
Once more I lift weary eyes....
a full moon bursts free of the horizon
and all around me,
all that was full of fear
is now bathed in soft blue light
and this darkness becomes my comforter.
